Dear Yesuratnam,
There are two letters from the Pope of Rome adressing the King of Nasranis. There are two ancient granite funerary inscriptions, one still kept in the Church at Udayampeeroor talking about the Villarvattom Kings, the other tombstone is lost now, but has been cited. So, it is not just an oral tradition.
